From Blankets To Barefoot… I’m In My Happy Place

 

It’s kind of wild how fast it changed. One minute you needed a jacket, rain boots and a beanie, and now you’re reaching for shorts and a t-shirt. It almost feels like it happened overnight. And if you really stop and think about it, your energy shifted just as fast. You’re not imagining that. Something really did change.

 

May always brings a different kind of energy. April can feel heavy, you’re in mud season and trudging through everything and trying to figure everything out. But May, thank God, let’s you really loosen up. 

 

In numerology May carries a “6” energy, which is all about balance, home, connection and feeling good again. It isn’t rushed. It doesn’t want you in your head all the time. It wants you to come back to what feels simple and real.

 

That’s why you might notice you want to be outside more. You might feel like cleaning your space, opening the windows or just sitting in the sun a little longer than usual. My 3 year old grandson wants to go lay in the grass and watch the clouds go by and that sounds good to me. Your body is trying to reset and that definitely helps you get grounded and relaxed. After months of being more inside and in winter mode, your system is waking back up. This is a great way to help it out. The sunlight hits different. The air feels different. And your nervous system responds to that whether you realize it or not.

 

You might also feel a little restless. Like you want change but you can’t fully explain what kind. That’s part of this too. Spring energy is growth energy. And growth doesn’t always feel calm and perfect. Sometimes it feels like you’re in\ between. Not where you were, but not totally sure where you’re going yet. You’re just… shifting. 

 

Astrologically, this time of year also brings more grounded energy. It pulls you out of overthinking and back into your body. Into real life. Into things you can touch and feel. That’s why the little things start to matter more. Fresh air, sunlight, movement, being around people you enjoy. It’s not random. It’s your system trying to find balance again.

 

You don’t have to make it complicated. Some of the best things you can do right now are the simplest things. Take your tea outside in the morning. Let the sun hit your face for a few minutes, close your eyes and just take some deep breaths in. Open your windows and let fresh air move through your home. It clears more than you think.

 

If you can, get your hands in the dirt a little. Plant something, even if it’s small. Or just walk barefoot in the grass. It sounds simple, but it helps your body settle. It brings you back into the present. You start to feel calmer without having to force it.

 

You might also notice your relationships coming into focus. The “6” energy brings attention to connection. You may feel drawn to certain people more than others. Or you might start to notice where something feels off. You don’t have to fix everything right now. Just notice what feels easy and what feels heavy. That awareness is enough to guide you. Set aside time to connect to spirit. Let yourself be guided.

 

If you’re feeling a little all over the place, that’s okay too. Drink more water. Move your body a little, even if it’s just a walk. Let yourself rest when you need it. You don’t have to be productive all the time. This isn’t that kind of energy. 

 

And honestly, one of the biggest things right now is letting yourself enjoy it. You don’t always have to be working on yourself or trying to figure everything out. Sometimes your energy shifts the most when you just let things feel good. Pay attention to what makes you happy. Do more of that.

 

If the sun feels nice, stay in it a little longer. If going outside sounds good, go. If something feels light and easy, follow that. You don’t need a perfect plan. Go with the flow.

 

May isn’t asking you to push. It isn’t asking you to hustle or force change. It’s asking you to let go a little, open up and let yourself receive.

 

You’re not behind. You’re just moving with the season.
