Magical tea that is!

Tulsi or Holy Basil Tea is a great way to raise your vibration and cultivate more stress-free and magical moments into your life. Cultivating your vibe is about using the tools you have available to you on a daily basis. A high vibration radiates Peace, Love and Calm. Who wouldn’t want to feel that?!

We live in a world that fluctuates on different frequencies, also what you eat, hear, say, watch or who you are around and so much more constantly affects the vibration you are at. There are days you may wake up and something just feels off. Your frequency is low. Sometimes this is a result of a subconscious pattern. Something that is coming up so you can heal it. But everything in your environment effects your vibes. When you are having an off day, you need your healing tools the most. It’s okay to feel what you feel, it’s important to honor what you feel, and more importantly, to love yourself through the process. Surround yourself with the tools you need to become a conscious self healer! You can change your vibration, you can raise it and it’s as easy as drinking tea.

Tulsi tea, which comes from the tulsi plant and is also known as holy basil or “The Queen of Herbs”, packs a whole lot of health benefits.

This is an antioxidant-rich tea known to aid stress, anxiety, depression, blood sugar, blood pressure, the immune system and also helps heal respiratory illnesses like coughs, congestion and colds faster. It’s known to have healing benefits for the pancreas, liver, acid reflux, cholesterol and it also improves stamina, strength and endurance.

If you are ready for a little magic, here is the recipe:

Pick your Tulsi or Holy Basil, set out to dry for a day, boil water, while the water boils, muddle or bruise several sprigs and add them to a 24 ounce glass jar. Pour the water over the sprigs, cover it (to help keep the volatile oils, which would otherwise escape with the steam), let seep 15 minutes.

For a bedtime tea, you may want to add a teaspoon of Chamomile for a more relaxed sleep.

If you enjoy lattes, add a splash of cream.

  • To store the dried tea leaves, make sure to place them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight in an airtight container. Prolonged exposure to oxygen and sunlight will cause the tea to become stale.
  • CAUTION: Do NOT drink Tulsi or Holy Basil Tea if you are taking blood-thinning medications like Warfarin and Heparin. Tulsi can intensify the blood thinning properties of the prescribed drugs and lead to more severe complications.
  • If you have diabetes or hypoglycemia, Tulsi may lead to excessive reduction in blood sugar.
  • Pregnant: One of the holy basil side effects is it can increase uterine contractions.
