Have you ever had a feeling about something but talked yourself out of it?
Maybe you met someone and immediately felt that something wasn’t quite right, but you convinced yourself you were overreacting.
Maybe you felt pulled toward a new opportunity but let fear or self-doubt talk you out of taking the next step.
Or perhaps you’ve experienced that quiet inner nudge to slow down, rest, or make a change, only to ignore it because life felt too busy.
We’ve all been there.
One of the greatest gifts we’ve been given is our intuition. Yet, it’s also one of the easiest parts of ourselves to dismiss. We live in a world that encourages us to seek answers outside of ourselves. We ask for opinions, search online, and look for signs that we’re making the “right” decision.
While wisdom from others can certainly be valuable, there comes a point when we have to remember that God has also placed wisdom within us.
Intuition isn’t about fear or overthinking. It often arrives quietly. It feels peaceful, gentle, and persistent. It doesn’t shout or demand attention. Instead, it patiently waits for us to become still enough to hear it.
One of the biggest reasons we struggle to recognize our intuition is because our minds are so busy. Between responsibilities, technology, constant information, and everyday stress, it’s easy to lose touch with that quiet inner knowing.
The beautiful thing is that your intuition never leaves you.
Even if you’ve ignored it for years, it’s still there, waiting patiently for you to reconnect.
Sometimes reconnecting doesn’t require a dramatic life change. It begins with creating a few moments of stillness each day. Sitting outside. Taking a walk without distractions. Spending a few quiet minutes in prayer or meditation. Simply paying attention to what you’re feeling without immediately judging it.
The more we practice listening, the more familiar that inner voice becomes.
This doesn’t mean every thought we have is divine guidance. It means learning the difference between fear and peace, between anxiety and wisdom, between reacting and responding.
When we begin to trust ourselves, we also begin to trust the guidance God places within us.
This week, I invite you to slow down just enough to listen.
Before making your next decision, pause for a moment.
Take a deep breath.
Ask yourself:
What is my intuition trying to tell me right now?
Then resist the urge to immediately analyze the answer.
Simply notice what comes.
You may discover that the guidance you’ve been searching for has been quietly waiting inside you all along.
