Aren’t You Worth One Minute?

In our hectic world, it is so important to take the time to slow down and become one with the present moment. If you’re feeling stressed, try taking just one minute to slow down and come back to the present. You can do this at the office, an event, car or even on a bus. You can do it standing or sitting, this exercise can be done virtually anywhere. All you need is a minute. If you like you can close your eyes, but you don’t have to. For just one minute put aside whatever you’re doing, and focus:

• 1. Feel your breath coming in and out of your nose. Is it cold, warm, hot. Feel your breath as it fills up your chest and lungs, and notice it as it releases on your exhale.

• 2. Use your senses to notice what’s happening around you. What do you hear, smell or feel?

• 3. Notice what emotions and thoughts are coming up for you right now. Just notice them, without judgment, and without any desire to change them.

• 4. Be aware of when your mind drifts, but bring it back each time to your breath.

• 5. When you are ready, if they are closed you can open your eyes and come back to the room.

One minute, that’s all it takes to become present. Notice when you need that and gift yourself one minute. You are so worth it!
