What Mask Are You Wearing?

What Mask Are You Wearing?

All of you wear different masks at different times. You wear one mask to work, one with your friends, one with your family, maybe a different one at church.

These masks are the image you want to portray to fit in, but they do not serve you or anyone else. Authenticity is not a luxury; it is a necessity.

Deep healing requires ridding yourself of these energetic masks you have become accustomed to wearing. I have worked with tremendously brave people who have endured horrific trauma for years or even a lifetime. They have had to wear different masks to survive their circumstances. However, healing requires self-care and self-love. It requires the courage to release the masks and be willing to learn to love the real you. It involves not caring who else loves you because you finally know your worth, know you have the right to boundaries, and know you have the right to turn away anyone that doesn’t or won’t respect them.

Wearing a mask takes away energy from your consciousness and, in the long run, wears out your energy. When your energy is worn out or depleted, you leave yourself open to disease.

One of the most common reasons for you to wear masks is the Imposter Syndrome—the fear that the world is going to find you out…. one of your greatest fears is that if you show your true self, the world will say, “Oh, it’s just you.” But being “just you” is actually the best and most perfect thing you could ever be. You can’t continue trying to gain others’ approval or minimizing conflict by being someone you’re not. Don’t be afraid of the judgement of others, be vulnerable, be authentic, and those that are meant to be in your life will be drawn to you. Those are your true PEOPLE, your tribe. Be brave and say, “This is who I am, I love myself, and I invite you to love me too.”

Pretending to be someone you aren’t, faking it, takes up so much of your vital energy. Every time you put on that mask you lose a little bit of your true self. In time, if you wear it long enough, you forget who you truly are and become who you are pretending to be. That is robbing yourself and the world of the one and only true, authentic YOU. This is deep profound healing, it takes guts, but it is so worth it.

Isn’t it time for you to remove the masks and be authentic with yourself and others?

It’s never too late to be true to yourself.

Please share with anyone that you think might benefit from this information!
