Is your soul screaming out to be heard?
From the time you were born, you were being conditioned to hide who you truly are and that continues on for most of your life unless you stop it.
I’m not talking about who you want to be, who the world wants you to be, how you portray yourself to others, or even who you think you are—but your actual, honest to goodness, good, bad, ugly, original blueprint.
You learn from an early age that you have to behave a certain way, look a certain way, do things a certain way. You learn right and wrong. You are told how to behave and what is expected from you.
Often, you are taught from an early age that in order to survive, you need to change yourself or make yourself smaller to fit in. I noticed with my children and each of my grandchildren, that once they start school, they just change. They are constantly being shoved into a mold. They lost their individuality and freedom and were told to be quiet, be still, behave, follow and fit in.
In the larger scheme of things, women throughout generations have been taught to be submissive, stay soft and be seen and not heard.
But when you suppress your authentic self, your soul begins to whisper and if you ignore it, it will scream. That scream isn’t audible but it is visible. It could manifest physically as chronic illnesses or pain, or even mental health issues like anxiety or depression.
You can only move past this when you start getting to know yourself and you begin shedding all that is not in alignment with who you are.
What is it that you need to shed? What aspects of the true YOU have you repressed? How are those things showing up in your life?
Take some quiet time and journal what comes to you when you ask yourself these things.
Write it down. Sit with it. After that, make a vow to yourself to change it. Honor yourself by being the true authentic YOU. God created you for a reason. He has a beautiful plan for your life. Find it!
