The Hidden Energy Leaks: Where Your Power Is Being Drained and How to Reclaim It!

I am hearing over and over how drained you all feel!

 

Does this sound like you? Have you ever felt completely exhausted, even when you’ve had enough sleep? Or maybe you start your day feeling good, but by the afternoon, you’re drained and don’t know why. You’re not alone. Your energy is leaking—and you don’t even realize it.

Just like a house with tiny cracks that let in the cold air, your energy field can have small leaks that slowly drain your power. These leaks don’t always come from big events like stress or trauma. Sometimes, they come from your own little habits, unnoticed patterns, and everyday interactions that seem harmless but are actually taking your energy away.

Let’s take a look at some of the hidden energy leaks in your life and how you can seal them up to reclaim your power.

 

Where Is Your Energy Leaking

You may not notice it, but your energy is constantly being pulled in different directions. Here are some of the biggest (and sneakiest) ways you might be losing energy without realizing it:

 

Scrolling Through Social Media Mindlessly

Have you ever opened your phone “just for a minute” and then looked up an hour later? Social media can be fun, but it also drains your energy especially when you’re absorbing negative news, comparing yourself to others, or getting lost in endless scrolling. Your mind and emotions get cluttered, and you may feel tired or irritated without knowing why.

Fix it: Set a time limit for social media and unfollow accounts that make you feel bad about yourself. Be intentional about what you consume.

 

Over-Explaining Yourself

Do you ever feel like you have to defend your choices, explain yourself too much, or prove your worth? Maybe someone asks why you’re eating healthier, and suddenly, you feel like you have to give a long explanation. Every time you do this, you’re giving away energy instead of standing firm in your truth.

Fix it: Remind yourself that you don’t have to explain everything. A simple, “This is what works for me” is enough.

 

Absorbing Other People’s Emotions

If you’re highly sensitive or empathetic, you may pick up on the emotions of others without realizing it. You might feel anxious after spending time with someone negative, or you may carry someone else’s sadness long after a conversation. This is a huge energy drain.

Fix it: Imagine a protective bubble of light around you before interacting with people. Afterward, shake off any energy that isn’t yours (literally shake your hands and body to reset). Then take a deep cleansing breath.

 

Ignoring Your Intuition

Every time you ignore your gut feeling, you create an energy leak. Maybe you knew you should have said no to something but agreed anyway. Or you felt like someone wasn’t being honest with you, but you ignored the signs. When you dismiss your intuition, your energy gets stuck in regret and overthinking.

Fix it: Start listening to your inner voice. Trust your first instinct instead of second guessing yourself.

 

Holding onto Resentment and Past Hurts

When you hold onto anger, grudges, or painful memories, your energy stays trapped in the past instead of flowing freely in the present. This doesn’t mean you have to forget or excuse what happened or even stay connected to the person but carrying emotional weight only drains you, not the other person.

Fix it: Write a letter expressing everything you feel (you don’t have to send it). Then burn or tear it up as a symbol of releasing the energy.

 

How to Reclaim Your Energy

Now that you know where your energy is leaking, here’s how to seal those leaks and recharge yourself.

 

Call Your Energy Back

Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Say in your mind or out loud:

 

“I call back all of my energy from every place, person, and thought where I have left it. I am whole, I am powerful, I am complete.”

 

Visualize your energy returning to you like golden light flowing back into your body.

 

Set Stronger Boundaries

 

Protect your energy by learning to say no without guilt. If something doesn’t feel right, trust that. You don’t have to be available to everyone all the time.

 

Do an Energy Cleanse

Try these simple ways to clear your energy field:

Water: Take a salt bath or shower with the intention of washing away energy that’s not yours.

 

Movement: Shake your body, dance, or stretch to move stuck energy.

 

Sound: Play high-vibration music, use a singing bowl, or simply hum to yourself to break up heavy energy.

 

Be More Present

A lot of energy leaks happen when you’re stuck in the past or worrying about the future. Bring your focus back to right now. Take a deep breath. Feel your feet on the ground. Notice the air on your skin. When you’re present your energy stays with you instead of scattering.

 

Choose What You Feed Your Mind

Your energy is influenced by what you watch, read, and listen to. Be mindful of the kind of energy you’re allowing into your space. If it doesn’t uplift or support you, let it go.

 

Your Energy is Sacred

Your energy is one of your most valuable resources. When you allow leaks to go unchecked, you feel exhausted, stuck, and disconnected. But when you take charge of your energy, you feel clear, strong, and fully in control of your life.

Take a moment right now and ask yourself: “Where have I been giving my energy away?” Once you recognize your leaks, you have the power to close them and bring your energy back where it belongs—with you.
