Ahhh, that’s a relief

In the pacific NW we have had a mild but rainy winter so far but some parts of the country or other countries have had extreme weather. So, here is another tip for keeping you and your little ones skin healthy.

Since ancient Roman times, people have been using oatmeal for skin care. Oatmeal contains compounds that have anti-inflammatory and moisture-retaining properties.

It can help with issues such as:

  • Atopic dermatitis
  • Chickenpox
  • Diaper Rash
  • Dry, itchy skin
  • Contact Dermatitis
  • Psoriasis
  • Eczema
  • Insect bites
  • Poison ivy and Poison Oak

Instructions:

Rolled Oats – you can grind them in a coffee grinder, food processor or blender.

Draw your bath, very warm but not hot water.

Add in 1 to 1 1/2 cups of the ground Oats.

You can use cheesecloth or old pantyhose to make a pouch if you prefer. That makes it less messy.

I add in whatever essential oils I am drawn to at the time. Up to 30 drops. Lavender and Pom Yarrow are great for the skin but there are so many others. You are all unique beings and want spirit’s input as to what is for your highest good at any given time. What you need today may not be what you need tomorrow.

You may want to add some rose petals to your bath water, they are soothing both visually and to the senses.

I like to turn the lights off and light a candle (you want ones made with essential oils not synthetic fragrances), play some soothing music and just soak for at least 20 minutes.

Pat your skin dry, don’t rub, and apply a little fractionated coconut oil, almond oil or avocado oil with a few drops of essential oils in it to retain moisture.

I hope you enjoy this tip.

Please share with anyone that you think might benefit from this information!
