Choose You

Feelings are information, not facts! Remember that.

When someone wants to argue with you, don’t get consumed by their drama, it will only drain your precious energy. Pause and realize their perception of you is a reflection of them, it really has nothing to do with you.

Your point of power is in how you handle it. Not giving any response is your best response. This way, you take your power back instead of giving it to them.

Remember, not everyone is worthy of your energy. Sometimes ignoring toxic energy is the most empowering thing you can do for yourself.

Never be afraid to hang up or walk away. This is a powerful message to them. It sets strong boundaries, and lets them know you won’t be abused in any form. No one should feel like they have been ripped apart and tossed out like garbage.

You deserve connections that don’t require you to walk on eggshells to get a point across. You deserve connections that don’t require you to sacrifice your peace just to protect feelings or egos.

You deserve connections that don’t require you to be hurt or humiliated. It’s never too late to decide who you are.

You may say, “But I have always been somebody’s daughter, somebody’s wife, somebody’s mom, somebody’s grandma, somebody’s girlfriend, or somebody’s caregiver. I never stopped to look at who I really am.

I guess that is one blessing the pandemic has given us. TIME.

You get to decide (who you really are) and that starts with self-love and getting to know your likes and dislikes. It starts with boundaries and respect for yourself, letting yourself have a voice and standing in your own authenticity, not caring who falls away. There are those that have mentally, verbally, or even physically abused you your whole life. They will be taken aback when you begin to stand up for yourself. They won’t like it, do it anyway. It’s not easy because often it is family or the people that you would expect to love you the most. But as hard as it is, you will feel a great deal better when you put a stop to it, even if it means releasing that person from your life.

You have probably heard the saying, “People will treat you how you allow them to treat you.” This is a fact! Only YOU can put a stop to it and reclaim your power and dignity.

Choose you over everything and everyone else.

You are worthy.
